Louisiana Shrimp Coalition (LSC) works to protect and restore our coastal communities and to preserve the culture and heritage of Louisiana's commercial fishermen.
We build upon years of the dedication and hard work by Louisiana Shrimp Association in Louisiana’s commercial fishing industry.
Louisiana Shrimp Coalition assists Louisiana’s commercial fishermen with community outreach, safety information and training outreach, industry and regulation assistance and disaster outreach information and assistance.
The formation of Louisiana Shrimp Coalition is the latest step in assisting in preserving Louisiana’s coastal fishing communities and its seafood harvesters.

We believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect, and we are committed to using our resources in the most effective and efficient way possible. We provide assistance, development and representation to Louisiana's commercial seafood harvesters and their families.

Louisiana's Commercial Fishermen
Our commercial fishermen catch shrimp and other seafood products for commercial profit from the wild fisheries. They are providers of food for our country. Fishermen take pride in their fresh seafood products that they harvest. This is a culture and heritage that has been handed down for many generations. The men and women of our commercial fishing industry are a vital part of our communities and to our state.
Louisiana's Seafood Industry
Our state is one of the most productive states in the seafood industry. Louisiana seafood is important to our state's economy, which produced 26,915 jobs* for commercial seafood alone. Our hardship today is competing with foreign shrimp that dominate our American seafood market. We ask that you help us save an industry that is well worth saving.
